Kathleen Ware, Quilter

Kathleen Ware at work

Have you ever seen this wonderful documentary? It tells the story of Kathleen Ware, a quilter in Oregon. It was made by Sharon Sherman in 1979 and was produces as part of the Folk Streams series.

Kathleen, like so many weaves her craft into  everyday life. She is generous with her skill and the whirring of her sewing machine is hypnotizing. If you have time, sit down with your favorite beverage and take a break to watch this beautiful woman make a beautiful quilt. Sadly Kathleen passed away in 2001.

Here’s hoping the link works-
