Happy New Year! I made an indigo dyepot!
But wait I am getting a bit ahead of myself. I finished this quilt. Seriously, I finished it. It is finished. done. It’s true. Even the binding.
and now about the indigoI used one of those big Homer pots from Home depot and I used the pre-reduced indigo from pro chem in Fall River MA.
Let me tell you – It is about as messy as you might think. I tied up this piece of white kona cotton and submerged it for about 2 and a half minutes.wow
as soon as I wash it out I will post pics.
See you tomorrow! Happy January!
xo, Marjie
The quilt turned out great! I’m looking forward to seeing what comes out of the indigo vat.
Thank you! I’m just a beginner with the indigo- but I can see how this can turn into an everyday habit!
Indigo, my absolute favourite colour. Can’t wait to see it, and that quilt is gorgeous! 😀
Thank you and thanks so much for following!
The quilt is fantastic!!! And I love indigo. Not sure why but have always felt like I had something very deep and profound to say to the world as a color….does that make any sense? Anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing the unveiling!
Thanks Penny! It is a gorgeous color isn’t it? I love having the vat around. I can just dip in whenever I want!
Peter’s quilt is just beautiful. Will we see a new design from him in the future?
Yes! and thank you so much. Peter is working on a new one.
Beautiful!!!!
Thanks Genevieve!
