indigo tied and indigo dyed

Happy New Year! I made an indigo dyepot!

But wait I am getting a bit ahead of myself. I finished this quilt. Seriously, I finished it. It is finished. done. It’s true. Even the binding.

and now about the indigoindigoI used one of those big Homer pots from Home depot and I used the pre-reduced indigo from pro chem in Fall River MA.

Let me tell you – It is about as messy as you might think. I tied up this piece of white kona cotton and submerged it for about 2 and a half minutes.indigotied1wowindigodyedas soon as I wash it out I will post pics.

See you tomorrow! Happy January!

The quilt is fantastic!!! And I love indigo. Not sure why but have always felt like I had something very deep and profound to say to the world as a color….does that make any sense? Anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing the unveiling!

  4. Peter’s quilt is just beautiful. Will we see a new design from him in the future?

Love to hear from you!
