Well I worked on this new piece most of the day yesterday. I added some more hills in the background, change the moon, made the trees on the left smaller and took out the red house. I started quilting it and here it is so far. I ripped out some quilting I didn’t like -it wasn’t so hard! -Sometimes I will give up on a project if it’s not working, but I am going to keep going and quilt the sky next. I’m learning a lot from this piece and I am pretty happy with the way this is turning out.
Can you tell me what kind of thread you like to use for machine quilting?
I just found out that you can’t get steam a seam anymore! Anyone out there have any suggestions what to use instead?
Hi Marjorie,
I’m so glad to have found your blog! Can’t wait to check it out!

Hi Amy! Loving your blog too!
Laura Wasilowski recommends Pellon WonderUnder 805R. I like it better than Steam-A-Seam, and it comes in a roll. I use whatever color thread works best for the piece regardless of content. Sometimes that means I have to quilt very slowly, or for only a few minutes at a time, but that’s a small price to pay for the exact right shade.
Hi Lani Thanks for commenting. I just got some wonder under and I can’t wait to try it. Also ordered mistyfuse. Seems like each has its own use. I am changing colors a lot with the big piece I’m quilting, and I agree that getting the right color is worth it.
Very cool!! What size is this?
Thanks Penny! It’s about 18″ x 24″
stitch witchery?
ah Thanks DeeDee!

Thank you Vernon!
I just ordered some. Can’t wait to try it!
