Well I have been at it all day. It’s 9:30 now and I will do a bit more sewing strips but that will be it for today. I tried to get the entire top done, but alas, the spirit is willing but the body (and mind) just can’t keep up.
Here is where I was at 4pm
Here is what it looks like now. I am about 2/3 or 3/4 done with the top. I didn’t plan, I just made decisions as I went along. I used up a lot more of my stash than I would have thought! I didn’t measure (can you tell), and I used a scissor instead of a rotary blade. I didn’t even use a table, I just cut stuff on the bed and pieced it as I went along. I sewed strips and cut them and re sewed. How fun! The whole time I just kept thinking, “oh just one more piece and I’ll stop.” that’s how I stay in the moment. I have to trick myself. All hand dyed by yours truly except for the big pumpkin linen pieces. It’s 3 pieces- here are some close-ups. A bit dark -sorry about that.
This takes my breath away!! You are going to have the most fantastic dreams under that beautiful quilt!
Thanks Donna! I hope you are having a wonderful birthday!

Thanks! Love your vintage patterns! And your quilt blocks are gorgeous!
Wow! This is so inspirational. I also dye all my own fabrics and have a lot of leftover pieces…

Very funny Christine! In the words of Aragon “You bow to no one!”
