The little house is just about finished. I call it a house because it is really so much more than a shed. Peter did such a great job, it is so solid and sturdy, I feel very safe when I am inside. And it’s beautiful!I got going on the little quilt tonight and it’s almost finished too. I did some machine quilting “stitch in the ditch”. I’ve never done that before and one thing I found out is that when you quilt in the ditch you can really see whether or not the seams match up. Mine don’t. It’s so fun though! The part I really like is leaving the needle in when you lift the foot to turn the work. I LOVE to do that. Really how cool is that?
Here it is all pinned up
and here it is getting stitched
I’ve had this roll of Borders Made Easy for about 6 years and I have never used it. I tried it tonight and I think I like it. The sewing went about as easy as it ever did for me. Having that line to follow was great even though I went off a few times.
Peeling it off was kind of a drag but I eventually got it all off. I quilted black thread on the black border so I am showing the back so the stitching shows. Not bad!
WOW! I’ve never heard of borders made easy. You really have used the perfect colors! And I a so green over that wonderful, new studio!
I finished up the other three sides and using that border was a breeze! I think it took longer to pull off the paper than to stitch it! And I have been making your lemonade all day today it’s delicious!
Yeah! Hope you’re not all puckered up!! 😎 I tried paper piecing once and got annoyed that it took so long to remove the paper!
The color choices and placement in this piece is wonderful!
Thanks Penny. I am almost done with it!
So great, your studio! Beautiful colours in your quilt!
Oh I like that you call it my studio! What a great idea. Thank you!
I really love how your hand dyes play so well together in this piece! The little house is lookin’ great too!
Thank you Laura, I hope to make a series of these. It’ll help me to practice my sewing skills. I hope to hang it in the little house very soon.
Nice!
Thanks Donna! thought I might see you this weekend!
