May Day

Happy May Day! It has been quite a Winter here in the Hilltowns of Massachusetts. My Village of Shelburne Falls has a lovely way to greet Spring. The Children at the Elementary School make beautiful paper bouquets and leave them on all the doorknobs in the village on May Day.

I love to imagine all the lovely sounds of the children chattering and their excitement and delight in making these bouquets in the days before May Day. I want to share this with all of you. I hope it makes your day as bright as it did mine.

And here is a shot of my may day bundle-

oxalis, violets, two sprigs of forsythia and 3 dandelions bundled in silk and simmering in natural dye from pomegranate skins.

We’ll see what we get!

Have a beautiful creative day!
