I was dyeing all weekend and have some photos to prove it! I posted a couple of days ago but then lost my post on my blog. I have been playing around a bit with widgets and themes and other ways to post -so I’m sorry for all you folks getting another email on the same subject! But it is a very good subject, isn’t it?
Well it all started on Saturday morning. I woke up very early and got a blue dyepot going with procion dyes. I’m dyeing to do an indigo pot but don’t have the indigo so I’m doing my best with mixing blue, periwinkle and blue gray. Here’s how it all went. I’m using white kona cotton, prepared for dyeing. (PFD)

I pulled the thread tight and knotted it. The I put it into the dyepot along with the arashi and some other folded pieces.

I finished a set of Gingko Table Linens. I silkscreened discharge onto red linen. This is a custom order for my dear friend Sally.

I kept printing ginkgo on some silk squares I had in the studio. I think they will make some very fine pillows.
Saturday night Peter and I went to see “The Judge”. It was filmed here in Shelburne Falls last summer. There are some wonderful shots of our sweet village and it was a real hoot to see it on the big screen. The two Roberts were excellent.
I also finally dyed two Alpaca shawls that I have been afraid to dye because they were so expensive. But they came out great!! I love them! I used acid dyes – they are just gorgeous.

and the purpley one finished. Fun fun. It’s wet and kind of scraggly looking isn’t it? But it’s dry now and ever so soft!
the alpaca shawl is DIVINE !!
both of them; especailly the luscious purple – Yum!
The ginko prints are spectacular!
