Peter is sanding the floors with this monster sander we rented in our hope to be pretty soon living room. Yay! You are doing a fabulous job Darling! I am using a very small orbital sander and filling up the nail holes. Really this has been quite a job. Kate you were a huge help too!!
First we took up all the linoleum. Then Peter scored the plywood sub floor dividing it up into 12″ (approx) squares. We had to pry it all up and pull out about a gazillion nails. The beautiful oak floor was then revealed but it needed to be refinished. So all day yesterday and today, Peter is sanding the floor. three passes with different grades of sand paper course to fine and the edging too. We are both ecstatic about the floor. I just have to show it to you, it looks amazing!
Here is the room when we first moved in. Pink walls with a gray linoleum.
We started sanding yesterday
Here we are today
And the front porch too! Lovely soft pine floor out there!
So happy. Hope you had a happy day too! See you tomorrow,
xoxoxo,
Marjie
Thank GOD they covered up that lovely wood and preserved it for you! Low lustre poly, right? Am intrigued by the oil and wax finishes.
