Hotel Dyeing Part 2

I’m here in Oberlin Ohio at the Oberlin Inn and I’m dyeing. I brought a little travel pack of dyes-I’ve been wanting to try lapis blue so I brought it with me. I also brought some soda ash. But no dye pot, no spoon. I have to make do with what I have. I brought a few silk scarves and some pima cotton. I can’t wait to see how this comes out. I’m going to also embellish with some metallic fabric paints I brought along with me, but the foundation is Lapis.

A barrette instead of a spoon and a water bottle for a dye pot. I have to be careful-the sink is made of some kind of material that stains. I know this because I spilled some dye and now I can’t get it off.
