Making Book

My first studio space was in Hoboken NJ in the old My-T-Fine pudding building. In those days (back in the late 70’s), Hoboken was a very different place than it is now.

There was a lot of bookmaking and by that I mean a lot of bets placed.

This thing that I do is very different, though I love the term “Making Book”.

I know that some of you out there get me.

Here is my most recent bookmaking activity. It’s perfectly legal. The cover is made from my own botanical printed paper dyed with logwood. I used a coptic stitch to bind -somewhere around 98 pages. Inside there are many beautiful prints of black walnut leaves over dyed with madder root.

My Dear Diary

Have a beautiful creative day!

Love, Marjorie
